Life Chain -- What is it?

The Life Chain is a call to Christian churches to mobilize against an abortion holocaust that, through surgical abortions alone, each year claims over 1.2 million American lives and over 60 million lives wordwide. Abortifacient deaths will far exceed even those grim numbers.

The Life Chain commonly occupies both sides of a downtown street, where the traffic is slow and heavy. Life partners, standing or kneeling on the sidewalk out of the way of both foot and vehicular traffic and 50 to 100 feet apart, silently and prayerfully hold signs urging an end to abortion. The chain lasts for one and a half hours.

Where and When Can I Join the Next Life Chain?

National Life Chain Sunday was October 2, 2011, when most of the Sacramento area Life Chains were held, but there is still one more chance to join a Life Chain this year on Sunday, October 30 in Davis.

What Else Can I Do?

Join 40 Days for Life.  The 40 Days for Life prayer campaign will run from September 22 through October 31 this year at at 5301 F Street, in front of one of the busiest abortion clinics in our area, Pregnancy Consultation Center, which is known throughout northern CA for specializing in abortions through 6 months of pregnancy Sacramento.  Vigil hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.  There will be a closing prayer gathering, Monday, November 1st, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anna's Greek Orthodox Church,  1001 Stone Canyon Drive, Roseville.  For more information call Wynette at  916-955-1577.

Support Prolife Political Candidates.  Millions of us are prolife in this country.  In fact, a solid majority of Americans are opposed to the current system of unlimited abortions at any time for any reason.  So why do we have so little political clout?  The answer is simple--few prolifers are taking an active part in politics.  There are some good prolife candidates out there, but they often don't get to the general election because prolifers don't contribute their money, time, and enthusiasm to them in the critical early stages of the campaign before the primaries.

Join Us in Prayer at the Clinics.  Most women who choose abortion say they do so because they feel they have no other choice. Many lack emotional, moral, and other support they need to say yes to life. You can help by joining us at the clinics. You can receive training to become a sidewalk counselor or simply join us in prayer. Babies are being saved, and you can be a part of it right now.  Prayer is generally scheduled for times at when women are arriving at the clinics and abortions are actually being performed.  If you like, you can download an informational brochure that is distributed by sidewalk counselors at the clinics.
Join a Prolife Prayer Team.  Members of the prolife prayer team sponsored by Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Auburn are asked to pray specifically for life at least once a week, and are given several suggestions for both private and group prayer.  For more information or to join the team, contact Vic at vicalb@starstream.net

Come to a Prolife Mass.  The churches below all have ample parking space.

Terry Schiavo Videos & Information

Terry Schiavo was a handicapped but otherwise healthy and apparently conscious woman who was starved to death by being deprived of food and water, which she got by means of a feeding tube, since she was unable to swallow. You might have seen statements in the press about her allegedly vegetative state. You may think otherwise after seeing the streaming videos and visiting the links on this page.
